Rosher Federer’s gift to Diego Schwartzman – Find out why Rosher and not Roger – Diego Schwartzman reveals why Roger Federer wrote ‘Rosher’ on the tennis racquet he gifted him at The Laver Cup.
Diego Schwartzman was one among the lucky few present during Roger Federer’s retirement at the Laver Cup and got a chance to experience a memorable farewell for the Swiss legend. Schwartzman, who was a part of Team World at the 2022 Laver Cup, received a special gift from Federer and revealed a joke behind the same.
The Argentine tennis star has been a fan of the former World No. 1 for an extended time and has expressed his admiration for him time and again. As Federer was set to bid goodbye to the game at the Laver Cup, Schwartzman asked him for one among his racquets as a souvenir.
The 20-time slam champion obliged and signed the racquet as ‘Rosher’ before handing it to Schwartzman. During a recent interview with Punto de Break, the 30-year-old revealed that he and his fellow Argentine players pronounce Roger differently thanks to their accent and that often makes Federer laugh, which is why he signed the racquet as ‘Rosher’ rather than ‘Roger.’
Schwartzman further revealed that he indeed exchanged racquets with Swiss great, who promised that he would soon use Schwartzman’s racquet during one among his friendly matches.
Schwartzman and therefore the rest of his Team World teammates carried the eight-time Wimbledon champion on their shoulders during his emotional farewell at the Laver Cup to applaud his achievements in the sport of tennis.

Federer, who has won twently Grand Slam titles including a record 8 Wimbledon championships, hung up his boots after the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup.
In an interview with Swiss news outlet Blick, the 2008 Olympic doubles gold medallist revealed how his partner Mirka has struggled to watch him in recent years.
Mirka, who was habitually spotted in the stands encouraging on her beau, had to retire herself from tennis in 2002 due to a stubborn foot injury.
Federer had once stated that the last few years had not only been tough for him, but it had been even tougher for his wife, Mirka.
Mirka, due to all her injuries didn’t enjoy watching Roger Federer play anymore. Federer was not happy with this situation and felt sorry for her too.
It is apparently a great relief for Mirka, now that Federerâs retirement is done.

Roger Federer’s thoughts on Rafael Nadal’s Australian Open Win
RAFAEL NADAL cruised past Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic by winning a record 21st Grand Slam title at the current edition of the Australian Open.
Roger Federer has ended the suspense on how he felt watching long-time foe and friend Rafael Nadal break his Grand Slam world record.
Roger Federer has been the most decorated man at Grand Slam level since Wimbledon 2009, with Nadal and Novak Djokovic playing catch up to his record of 20 titles.
Rafael Nadal was able to go past this benchmark in the Grand Slam race for the first time when he won the Australian Open on Sunday, attaining a record 21st Major trophy.
Federer broke Pete Sampras’ Grand Slam world record way back in 2009, winning a then-record 15th Major title at Wimbledon. Now he knows how Sampras felt almost 13 years back! Of course he also is aware on how difficult it is to break any form of world record.
Federer was one of the first players to applaud his long-standing opponent for his accomplishment in an expressive social media message, and has now shared how he felt viewing the final for the first time.
The Swiss tennis legend was nothing but happy for the 35-year-old Spaniard, admitting he knew more than anyone how challenging it was to break a record.

The Paris Fashion Week commenced on 27 September, with quite a few top fashion labels showcasing their latest womenswear designs for 2022 spring/summer compilation.
The upper crust of the fashion labels, including Christian Dior and YSL, presented their designs on Day 2. Roger Federer and his wife were special guests at the Dior’s show.
Federer was seen wearing a greyish-blue suit with a white shirt and black shades. His wife, Mirka donned a gown of a similar hue to Federer’s suit, but she also sported a dark blue leopard-print jacket.
The duo seemed to have arrived in the afternoon, ahead of Christian Dior’s show, which was slated to begin at 2 pm local Paris time.
Here are some photos of Federer and his wife Mirka from Paris Fashion Week:
Interestingly, Federer’s crutches, which made their 1st public appearance at the Laver Cup in Boston, were also seen helping the Swiss maestro in Paris.

Roger Federerâs Turbo Recovery post third knee surgery : Roger Federer ‘feeling good’ as he recuperates from latest knee surgical procedure
Roger Federer has earlier said he would be out of action for “many months” because he required a 3rd procedure on his right knee in eighteen months in a bid to return to competition.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion was last seen performing at the Wimbledon this year.
Roger Federer says he is “feeling strong & eager for whatâs to come” as he regains his strength post his latest knee operation at the age of 40.
Federer had 2 surgeries in 2020 which resulted in more than a year of recovery before a return to action in March, however, he endured another impediment during his run to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in July.
“I’m feeling in all honesty really good ⌠things are not as bad as I thought they would be, but I’m recuperating well and the post operative therapy is going really good,” Federer told Eurosport.
“I’ve had no complications at this time. I’m feeling great and thrilled for what’s to come. I wish I could be back on a tennis court as fast as possible, but I have been advised to take baby steps to that goal.
“It’s a slow phase right now. And I got to take it one small step at a time. The going is good so far and I’m very happy with my progress.”
Federer, who skipped the US Open as a consequence of the surgery, also thinks it remains possible for the Calendar Slam to be viable after Novak Djokovic fell at the decisive hurdle in New York earlier this month.
World No 1 Novak Djokovic was attempting to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win all 4 Grand Slams in the same year – and outdo Rafael Nadal and Federer with a record 21st major – but went down in unceremonious fashion to Daniil Medvedev.
“I think it is likely that it’s going to come about again,” said Federer. “We saw it with Djoker, myself and Nadal that we come exceptionally close.
“But I also believe you need a bit of luck. You need dedication, strength ⌠that’s why I think it’s going to be tough. But the potential of Calendar Slam cannot be ruled out.

Roger Federer to go through a third knee surgery and is expected to be out of the scene for many months”
Roger Federer has revealed that he will be going ahead with yet another surgery on his knee in the coming days, which will keep him away from the game for “a long time”. Federer posted a video on Instagram, where he explained the reasoning behind his decision to have a third knee surgery.
https://youtu.be/u4vSYIjFyHM
Needless to say, the Swiss maestro has, with this revelation, also ruled himself out of this yearâs edition of the US Open.
Roger Federer first got his right knee injured during the 2020 Australian Open, for which he underwent surgery. The 20-time grand slam champion then suffered a setback within a couple of months of recuperation, which required a 2nd procedure.
After that it took Federer several months to regain his fitness, and he made his return at the Qatar Open this year. Everything appeared to be going good for the Swiss over the next couple of months, but he injured the knee again during his Wimbledon quarterfinal defeat to Hubert Hurkacz.
Now it is obvious that the damage is much more severe than most people initially imagined. Federer stated in his video that he would require to be on props for “many weeks” after the surgery, essentially ruling him out for a lengthy period.
No reason why Roger Federer won’t come back after a 3rd knee surgery, he still has the “will and energy” to keep playing: Marc Rosset
Former Olympic champion Marc Rosset is of the opinion that Roger Federer’s return to the tour centers on how well his third surgery goes. Rosset reckons that Federer surpassed hopes at Wimbledon and that he still has the yearning to keep playing and winning. In short Roger is not done yet!

Robert De Niro Snubs Roger Federer : Robert De Niro rubbishes a proposal from Roger Federer to be a part of a Switzerland Tourism spotlight.
The Oscar-winning American actor justifies his refusal by stating that âSwitzerland is just too perfect. â
Watch how Federer gets snubbed by De Niro:
https://youtu.be/uA3UvMhWAA8
Switzerland remains one of the planet’s most cherished tourist destinations. But, Robert De Niro looks at it differently and you cannot imagine how diverse a thought process a film maker/actor could have.
The Oscar-winning American acting icon snubbed Federer by outright refusing to be a part of the tourism spot for Switzerland because âthereâs no drama, absolutely no drama at all.â
De Niro conveyed this to Roger Federer, tennis superstar and the latest Switzerland Tourism (ST) ambassador, over a video call. In the video call, it can be seen that Federer is trying his best verbal pitch to depict the glory of Switzerland to De Niro; an effort to make him says yes, but he doesnât budge.
âSwitzerland is just too flawlessâ, remarks a disturbed De Niro and sums up why you should visit the Alpine nation.
Roger Federer joins hands with Switzerland Tourism as its brand ambassador.
Earlier this year, Federer became Switzerland Tourismâs official ambassador. âI have always felt, every time I step on the court, I am representing my country Switzerland. Each Time it says my name, there is a Swiss flag next to it. I have been very gratified to do that for the first twenty two years I have been on tour, and it will always be like that. To join forces with Switzerland Tourism now is a rational and compelling step for me.â
A special reference goes to another Oscar-winning American actor when De Niro tells Federer, âMaybe call Hanks.â De Niro was obviously implying Tom Hanks, who is deemed as one of the nicest people in the acting business.

Roger Federerâs fresh new outfit by Uniqlo to kickstart 2021.
The Swiss maestro returns in Qatar with a fresh new Uniqlo outfit.
It has been over a year since Roger Federer last stepped on a tennis court for a professional tennis match, a hiatus that’s given his apparel sponsor Uniqlo sufficient time to produce a winning ensemble for his return.
With Federer’s return at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in March 2021, the Japanese company has disclosed his new outfit for Doha. Federer will also wear it in Dubai should he participate in back to back competitions. You can take a look at it below:
Roger Federer’s Middle East 2021 Outfit
For Federer’s return, Uniqlo has played around with shades of green. It is essentially a dark green outfit with some lighter shades of green in the form of bands on the edges of the sleeves.
Like all his earlier Uniqlo kit, it’s been conceived by Christophe Lemaire of Uniqlo U, and the range will be available in adult and kids sizes.
The composition of the outfit is 100% polyester and it’s part of the Dry-Ex line. There is a matching pair of green shorts in a lighter shade of green and has a harmonizing hat too.
