Speculations are that Maria and Nadal’s baby could be named Sebastian – Here is why

On Saturday, October 8, 2022, Rafael Nadal’s wife Maria Francisca Perello gave welcomed their first baby. The couple became happy parents for the first time in their lives as their baby boy emerged and stole their hearts.

According to Spanish news reporters, the child was born in Mallorca, which is Rafael Nadal’s hometown.

Nadal, 36, met Francisca Perello, 34, through his younger sister Maribel when they were teenagers.

Maria Francisca Perello and Rafael Nadal, whose courtship started in 2005, tied the knot just before the global lockdown period. They will celebrate their third wedding anniversary on October 19. There have been no official statements from anyone in the family yet on the child birth and the paparazzi seem to be giving the couple some space during this private moment.

An age-old practice in Mallorca suggests that a newborn baby is named after his grandparents. This implies that Maria and Nadal’s baby could be named Sebastian, which is the Rafa’s father’s name.

It remains to be seen whether Maria and Nadal’s baby will be named Sebastian in line with the Spanish tradition or will a fresh name emerge ignoring the superstition that ages back hundred of years.

Xisca Perello has never been a tennis player, however she is serving as a general director for the Rafa Nada Foundation, a charity organization.

Not too long back at the fifth edition of the Laver Cup, Roger Federer proclaimed that the exhibition event will be the last professional event of his eminent career. This was the 1st time that all the members of the Big 4 were united to play for Team Europe.

While Rafael Nadal was thinking about skipping the Laver Cup due to his persistent abdominal injury, the Swiss legend persuaded him to attend.

Federer wanted to play his last match beside his pal and the renowned pair lost a close doubles match against Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock of Team World. However, before the competition began, an interviewer asked Roger Federer if he had any advice for Rafael Nadal, who was about to become a father.

Here’s what Roger Federer had to say to the Spaniard:

Hug the moment. While you will always enjoy your Grand Slam successes and professional endeavours, you will soon know-how new emotions and celebrations on a greater level than you ever imagined through your family.

Once you have read through this post you will agree that Rafael Nadal won the US Open 2022 without actually winning the title

Rafael Nadal’s impact in all the divisions of the 2022 US Open finals has been irrefutable. With Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud, Martin de la Puente, Alexandra Eala & Martin Landaluce making it to the finals in their respective categories, one can’t help but notice the common denominator – Rafael Nadal.

The tennis star himself has had a formidable show at the Grand Slams this year. The 22-time Major winner surpassed his own beliefs by winning a 2nd Australian Open title. He trailed that success by bagging his 14th Roland Garros title. At Wimbledon, Rafa fought his way through to the semifinals but pulled out from the final four citing an abdominal muscle tear. Barring his 4th-round US Open loss against Frances Tiafoe, Nadal was undefeated at the Majors this year.

Nadal’s onerous drive on the big stages is a glimpse into the work ethic he is imparting oh-so effectively to his students & admirers alike. His resilience, grit, and readiness to play each point with as much confidence was what set him apart from the rest. His talents can now be seen trickling into the younger generations.

One can observe that Rafael Nadal’s tennis academy in Mallorca, which was started in late 2016, has already begun to produce ground-breaking results.

Alexandra Eala, a student at the Rafa Nadal Academy, won the US Open girls’ title at the US Open 2022. Alexandra Eala has become the first player from the Philippines to achieve this momentous feat.

Meanwhile, Martin Landaluce, yet another of Rafael Nadal’s students, walked away with the 2022 US Open boys’ title.
In wheelchair tennis, Martin de la Puente was crowned with the 2022 US Open men’s doubles title. The young Spaniard cited that Rafael Nadal is one of the players he looks up to and tries to imitate.

Casper Ruud has borne exceptional results since joining the Rafa Nadal Academy. The 23-year-old already has 9 titles to his name and had ended as the runner-up at this year’s Roland Garros and most recently the US Open. The youngster has now advanced ahead of Rafael Nadal to become the new World No. 2.

Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz, meanwhile, overpowered Ruud in the 2022 US Open final to claim his first Grand Slam title & also the World No. 1 ranking. He is now the youngest player in ATP history to reach this top spot. Alcaraz has been equated to his older compatriot ever since he first seized fame-hood. Although the teenager is scripting his own history, the resemblances in their approach to the sport are undeniable.

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has already proven herself as an invincible player on the WTA tour, winning 3 Grand Slams, 2 of them, this year. The 21-year-old’s 2022 US Open title demonstrated that she is ready to surmount even when not playing to the best of her capability. Swiatek, a self-declared fan of Rafael Nadal’s, has taken motivation from the Spaniard in this regard.

Rafael Nadal Suffers a Rib Fracture & Ashleigh Barty Retires | 2 Unexpected News Flashes in One Day!

World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty has sent tremors through the tennis community by revealing her abrupt retirement, just two months after her Australian Open triumph.

Meanwhile, Spanish legend Rafael Nadal is likely to be side lined for the next 2 months due to a rib fracture. The Spaniard looked to be in discomfort during the Indian Wells Open final against Taylor Fritz and the explanation is now known to all of us.

How did Rafael Nadal suffer a rib fracture?

Rafael Nadal’s season has unexpectedly been turned upside down in a manner no one could have ever thought. The Spaniard set out to the Indian Wells final with a 20-match win streak, but saw his individual best start to a season come to an end at the hands of Taylor Fritz. During the final, the Spaniard was in agony due to issues with his torso and had trouble breathing.

Upon further investigation by a medical team, it has been discovered that he endured a stress crack in the third rib. He is going to need full rest to recover and will be out of action for around four to six weeks and almost certainly won’t compete at the Monte-Carlo Masters or the Barcelona Open. His participation at the French Open also hangs in the balance.

It is suspected that in his semi final match against Carlos Alcaraz he may have injured himself internally, without realizing. It is also possible that the stress from that game spilt over onto the finals and that is when the pain of the injury came out. The muscles around the chest and rib cage come into motion during powerful serves and top spin strokes. It is quite possible that is the root cause of his injury.

Why has Ashleigh Barty called it quits?

In an unanticipated move, World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty announced that she was stepping down from professional tennis. She hasn’t participated since winning the Australian Open in January 2022 and in an Instagram update, made known her decision to hang up her racquet for good at such an early stage in her career, she is just 25 years of age.

Barty is just the 2nd player in the pro WTA circuit to retire as World No. 1, following Justine Henin in 2008. The Australian’s career accomplishments include winning the Roland Garros in 2019, The Wimbledon Championships in 2021, The Australian Open in 2022 and the US Open doubles title in 2018.

Barty secured a further 12 singles titles, including the WTA Finals in 2019. She also held the World No. 1 ranking for 113 straight weeks and 120 in total. One of the most adored players on the tour, her absence will be felt all around.

Rafael Nadal defeats Cameron Norrie in straight sets to win Mexican Open title

Rafael Nadal continued winning streak in 2022 by defeating British number one Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-4 to secure the Mexican Open.

It was not long before (around the end of 2021), Nadal, 35, thought he might have to step down from professional tennis because of a foot injury, but has won all 3 tournaments he has played this year.

Rafa won a 21st major title at the Australian Open after triumphing at the Melbourne warm-up event.

“At the start of the year this was unthinkable,” said Rafael Nadal.

“A month and a half back nobody would have imagined it.”

Victory over the Brit Cameron Norrie extended Nadal’s career-best winning start to the season to a fifteenth victory.

The 4th seed, who beat incoming world number one Daniil Medvedev in the quarter finals, bagged the title in Mexico without dropping a set.

It is the 91st title of Rafael Nadal’s career and a 4th in Acapulco, having won his first as an 18-year-old seventeen years ago.

Nadal, who also won in 2013 and 2020, is now the event’s youngest and oldest champion.

Roger Federer’s thoughts on Rafael Nadal’s Australian Open Win

RAFAEL NADAL cruised past Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic by winning a record 21st Grand Slam title at the current edition of the Australian Open.

Roger Federer has ended the suspense on how he felt watching long-time foe and friend Rafael Nadal break his Grand Slam world record.

https://youtu.be/E6cej83AkHI

Roger Federer has been the most decorated man at Grand Slam level since Wimbledon 2009, with Nadal and Novak Djokovic playing catch up to his record of 20 titles.

Rafael Nadal was able to go past this benchmark in the Grand Slam race for the first time when he won the Australian Open on Sunday, attaining a record 21st Major trophy.

Federer broke Pete Sampras’ Grand Slam world record way back in 2009, winning a then-record 15th Major title at Wimbledon. Now he knows how Sampras felt almost 13 years back! Of course he also is aware on how difficult it is to break any form of world record.

Federer was one of the first players to applaud his long-standing opponent for his accomplishment in an expressive social media message, and has now shared how he felt viewing the final for the first time.

The Swiss tennis legend was nothing but happy for the 35-year-old Spaniard, admitting he knew more than anyone how challenging it was to break a record.
