After winning the US Open in 2021, Emma became an instant sensation, giving rebirth to the dwindling interest in British tennis much like when Andy Murray rose to the top. But with the media’s excessive focus firmly fixed on her and expectations weighing down on her shoulders, Emma felt a lot of pressure. However, Raducanu is aware that she can seek help from a fellow “survivor.”

“Andy Murray is so upright to talk to because he’s been through quite exactly what I’ve been going through,” Emma commented talking to Grazia. “I have always admired him and watched him winning his 1st Wimbledon and the Olympics.”

Why is Andy Murray donating his season earnings to UNICEF Aid?

35-year-old Andy Murray proclaimed back in March that he would contribute the rest of his season earnings to Ukraine UNICEF Aid to support children suffering from the Russian invasion.

The 3-time Grand Slam champion opened up about his continued activism ahead of the Citi Open, a hard court tournament that is being held in August.

He wants to make sure that the world is still aware of the ongoing Ukraine crisis, which has been going on since mid-February Russian invasion.

“It’s not the focal point on the news every day like it was back then,” Murray said, via Ben Rothenberg of Racquet Magazine. “You can’t just overlook this. It’s still going on and that is the harsh reality. People are still losing their lives, children are still having to run away from their homes, and are in really, really heart-breaking situations. I think it’s imperative that the media continues to cover this stark reality, keep talking about it.”

After the February Russian invasion of Ukraine, tennis players and tournaments were more forthright about the crisis. Some even wore ribbons in support of Ukraine during Indian Wells tournaments almost 5 months back, for example. Murray felt like the moral backing from the tennis fraternity has lost the impact in recent months in comparison.

But, support for Ukraine is back to being the focal point at the Citi Open. On top of bequeathing his earnings this upcoming week, Citi Open also declared that they will match Murray’s earnings to additionally donate to Ukraine relief.

Why Andy Murray considers himself a feminist

Why Andy Murray considers himself a feminist?

Why Andy Murray considers himself a feminist?

In 2019 Murray marked himself a feminist saying: “Have I become a feminist? Well, if being a feminist is about fighting so that a woman is treated like a man then, yes, I suppose I have.”

Recently Andy Murray voiced his disappointment concerning the gender bias at Dubai tennis Championships.

‘A big step backwards’: Andy Murray slams huge prize money discrepancy at Dubai tennis Championships

Tennis is often perceived as a worldwide leader in gender equality with equal prize money paid to men and women at the 4 Grand Slams. But a major inconsistency revealed this week during the Dubai Championships has sparked criticism from past men’s number one, Andy Murray.

In the women’s final winner at the Dubai Championships (WTA 500 event), Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko pocketed $104,180, but her male equivalent takes home close to 5 times more equivalent to a cool $523,740.
“Evidently that’s a big step backwards, so it’s not good,” Murray told journalists during the post-match interview after his 7-5, 6-2 loss to Jannik Sinner.

“If they’re the equal size events one week apart, that’s quite a big inconsistency.”

Murray has been vocal in his support for fairness and gender equality in the sport, and has made major personal assertions like contracting former WTA tennis great, Amelie Mauresmo as his mentor and coach in 2020.

In an op-ed for The Guardian, he described the double standards at play, implying many had been critical of his choice to work with Mauresmo purely because of her gender.

“I did well with Amélie and went far into grand slam finals, but a lot of critics saw the period when we worked together as a disappointment because I didn’t gain a grand slam title,” Andy wrote. “People criticized her for that, but that wasn’t the same thought process when it came to my other coaches – it was always me who was the problem, and I would get the critique when I failed. With Amélie, the questions I would come across a lot of the time after losing matches would be about our relationship. I’ve never had that at any other time in my career when I was with male coaches.”

Murray went on to note that the “best coaches should be the best people and without gender bias” and that more women were needed in this position within professional tennis.

Andy Murray has achieved three consecutive wins at the same ATP Tour event for the 1st time in more than two years after adversary David Goffin retired during their quarter-final at the Sydney Tennis Classic.

The last time the Scot achieved a hat-trick of triumphs at tour level was the European Open in Antwerp in October 2019, when he passionately won what is his only title since his hip complications began two years earlier.

But there have been encouraging indications over the last six months, most markedly that Murray has been able to play and train regularly, and he followed up an epic victory over Nikoloz Basilashvili by taking the opening set 6-2 against former top-10 star Goffin.

Andy Murray’s Wedding Ring Stolen

Andy Murray’s Wedding Ring Stolen | Kim Sears Not Amused

Andy Murray’s Wedding Ring Stolen : Andy Murray has been protecting his wedding ring in an unexpected place during his tennis matches, as you have no doubt by now heard.

Andy Murray keeps his sacrosanct ring secure when playing matches, by tying it through his laces.

“That way I won’t lose it if it’s tied to my shoelace,” Murray told Italian Sky Sports awhile back. “As soon as the game is over I put it back on.”

He felt the chances of him losing or misplacing the ring were greater if he kept them in his bag.

But that was what he said then, because the present-day Andy seems to be a bit careless about his wedding ring, or that is what we can infer.

Andy Murray has taken to social media to come out with the shocking news that his wedding ring has been stolen after a mishap with his tennis shoes.

The 3-time major winner is busy warming up to get into the action at the Indian Wells Open, and then there is incident of his shoes getting stolen, with his ring still tied to the shoe lace.

Watch the video below in which he has ended up issuing an appeal for the return of his wedding ring.

The British star further went on to explain that he left his tennis shoes outside beneath his car to dry out overnight – but they were nowhere to be seen when he returned in the morning.

Calling for social media users to help him out, Andy Murray light-heartedly pleaded for the return of the ring – to help him smooth things over with his deeply upset wife.

Andy tried to justify his action by saying that his room doesn’t have a balcony so he had no place to dry his stinky and wet shoes. He decided to leave the shoes underneath the car, to get some air to them and dry them out through the night.

By all the reactions on social media, it is clear that losing the shoes is not the issue here. Kim Sears maybe tempted to ask him why he left the ring laced up on his shoe and why he didn’t put it back on after the game? On her part she is justified in being totally upset!

Andy Murray’s Daring New Anchor Man Style Handlebar Look

Andy Murray’s Daring New Anchor Man Style Handlebar Look : Andy Murray went down fighting against Caper Ruud at the San Diego Open this week, but that gave him time to explore the city he loves so much.

Andy Murray surprised his fans by posting a rare selfie while proclaiming his love for the city while sporting a pretty interesting new look.

Andy, who is usually an extremely private person, took a rare selfie and uploaded it on Friday to expose his brand-new style in the form of an Anchor Man-style moustache!

The Scotsman held an intense look as he took the shot, letting his new facial hair do all the magic.

Making an obvious reference to the comedy film, starring Will Ferrell, Andy jokingly captioned the photo:

“San Diego what a city! Maybe the best I’ve been to on tour. Discovered by the Germans in 1904 would you believe!

He also shared a video clip panning across the scenic harbour where Andy reinvented an Anchorman scene in narrative format, much to his admirers’ delight.

When Andy isn’t touring for work, he lives in a £5million Surrey mansion with Kim and their 4 children. Their latest addition was born just 6 months back and although we don’t see the family much on social media, Andy did give an interview to The Mirror, giving an insight into their lives.

“Seeing the kids sitting at the table, behaving and eating their food and going to bed at the right time, those sort of things make me proud,” the star admitted.

Andy Murray Pissed off at Tsitsipas’ Unfair Gamesmanship

The Briton protested about what he thought was unfair gamesmanship by the French Open runner-up and proclaimed: I lost respect for him

Andy Murray is aware that Greek top seed has a growing repute for pushing the limits when it comes to taking breaks during a match.

Murray figures there was ample for him to contend with in Monday’s high heat and humidity: He’s 34. He’s got a synthetic hip. He’s ranked 112th after a string of fitness issues.

At one stage, he fell to the ground, losing his balance in sweat-soaked shoes and leaving specks on the blue court from his damp clothing.

So as the match stretched to almost 5 hours, Murray was not at all happy that Tsitsipas took a medical break after the 3rd set and made a prolonged visit to the locker room after the fourth. Following an engaging, back-and-forth 2-6, 7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 loss to Tsitsipas, Murray grumbled about what he thought off as unfair gamesmanship by the Greek and literally state that “I lost respect for him”.

Told of Murray’s anger, the just-turned-23 Tsitsipas said, “If there’s something that he has to tell me, we should speak, the two of us, to kind of understand what went wrong. I don’t think I broke any rules.”

With departures for Murray and 2014 winner Marin Cilic, who halted the match abruptly because of an injury in the 5th set against Philipp Kohlschreiber, the only man left in the draw after Day One with even one Grand Slam title is No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic will debut Tuesday night as he tries to break a tie for the men’s mark of 20 majors with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to complete a calendar-year Grand Slam.

Andy Murray and Kim Sears proud parents of a lockdown baby

Andy Murray and Kim Sears proud parents of a lockdown baby!

Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears have become proud parents for the fourth time.

As a result, the tennis star has pulled out of the upcoming ATP Tour event in Dubai as his immediate priority is his family, at this point in time, and caring for his partner and their new baby is top on his to-do list.

The news was revealed by a reporter for The Times, who disclosed on Twitter that Murray had decided to pull out of the event to tend to his family.

The couple have yet to confirm further details and no official statement has been made about the couple’s new baby.

Murray had been preparing to travel to Dubai for the event, which kicks off next week, but it is now understood that the probability of him being able to make it to the Miami Open later this month is more realistic.

On one hand Andy fans would be delighted about the news of his fourth child and on the other hand they would be disappointed as he previously had to withdraw from the Australian Open after testing positive for Covid-19 and now he has to pull out of the Dubai tournament due to personal reasons.

Andy and Kim have been married for 6 years and are parents to three children – Sophia, Edie and Teddy – and now the new baby as well.

The tennis star is known to keep his family life out of the limelight, and that could be the reason why the couple never publicly confirmed baby number four was on the way.

In the recent past Murray has been surrounded with injury problems and actually came close to ending his tennis career.

When the couple were anticipating their third child back in 2019, Murray jokingly admitted he needed to get back to touring since his family kept growing.
