Emma Raducanu has become a social media sensation ever since life changed dramatically this year when she went from A Level student to US Open champion.
Recently she posted a truly unique message on Instagram. It is an algebra version of her Christmas message – real genius. And the music in the background is Driving home for Christmas by Chris Rea.
She made her first appearance on the pro scene at Wimbledon in the summer when her wildcard was enhanced from the qualifying to the main draw while she was rated down at world No 338, having barely played for 18 months due to the pandemic and her commitment to her studies.
Then practically unknown, she made waves after thundering into the 2nd week on her Grand slam debut, becoming the youngest British woman in the Open Era to reach the last sixteen at Wimbledon, though she retired while a set-and-a-break down in her fourth round match with breathing problems.
She earlier announced that she would be spending Christmas away from her family.
A sacrifice that had to be made keeping in mind her preparations for the upcoming Australian Open.
