Iga Swiatek Dominates Stuttgart Open to Prove She’s the Best – Polish tennis player and world No.1, Iga Swiatek, cemented her status as a French Open favourite by defeating world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 6-4 in the Stuttgart Open final on Sunday. The victory marks Swiatek’s second title of the year and a clear message to her competitors that she is the best.
The match started with both players trading powerful baseline blows, but Swiatek was able to earn a crucial break point at 4-3. She capitalized on it by hitting a superb forehand down the line, going up 5-3, and easily held serve to win the first set on her second set point.
Swiatek, who was recently sidelined with a rib injury, broke Sabalenka again in the first game of the second set. The Belarusian struggled with unforced errors and her serve, allowing Swiatek to hold on to her lead. Sabalenka managed to hold serve at 2-0 after firing a cross-court forehand, but she was unable to break Swiatek’s serve.
After the match, Swiatek thanked her team for their support during a challenging time, saying,
“I am so happy we are making the right decisions.”
Her well-timed return from injury and dominant performance at the Stuttgart Open sends a clear message to her competitors that she is a force to be reckoned with.
