Coco Gauff Wins First WTA 500 Title, Celebrates with Twirl

Coco Gauff continued her impressive rise on the WTA Tour, defeating Maria Sakkari 6-2, 6-3 to win her first WTA 500 title at the Citi Open. The 18-year-old American is the youngest player to win a WTA 500 title since Belinda Bencic in 2015.

Gauff entered the tournament as the third seed and had a relatively easy path to the final. She dropped just one set in her first four matches, and she was never seriously challenged by Sakkari in the title match.

After winning the match, Gauff celebrated by doing a little twirl on court. She said that she was “really happy” with her performance, and she is confident that she can continue to improve and achieve great things in the future.
