2021 Abu Dhabi Women’s Tennis Open is a ladies’ tennis competition played on outdoor hard courts. It is the first professional edition of the event and a WTA 500 tournament on the 2021 WTA Tour.
Location
The tournament is being played in the capital of the United Arab Emirates at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi. The Middle East is an awesome midway point for players traveling to Australia (the qualifying draws for the Australian Open 2021 are being held in Doha and Dubai).
Date
Qualifying is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, January 5th, with main draw play to kick off the 2021 WTA season on Wednesday, January 6th. Both the singles and doubles finals will be played on Wednesday, January 13th.

It’s a top seed field as most of the other WTA players (not in the Top 100) will be in Dubai for the Australian Open qualifying draw, which starts Sunday.
The main draw in Abu Dhabi is led by Top 10 stars Sofia Kenin, Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova and Aryna Sabalenka. There’s also ertswhile Grand Slam champions Garbine Muguruza, Jelena Ostapenko and Svetlana Kuznetsova. And many other popular players including Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Elise Mertens and Marketa Vondrousova.
