Maria Sharapova invests in crypto startup MoonPay
Tennis superstar Maria Sharapova has become the latest high-profile figure to invest in crypto startup MoonPay. The company, which allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies using a variety of payment methods, has raised over $87 million in funding, and it is reportedly valued at over $3.4 billion.
Sharapova is not the only athlete who has invested in MoonPay. Other notable investors include singer Justin Bieber, rapper Snoop Dogg, and actor Bruce Willis. The company’s growing list of investors is a sign of the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies.
In a statement, Sharapova said that she was “excited” to be a part of MoonPay’s team. She said that she believes in the company’s mission to make it easier for people to buy and sell cryptocurrencies.
MoonPay’s CEO, Ivan Soto-Wright, said that he was “honored” to have Sharapova as an investor. He said that her support would help the company to achieve its mission of making cryptocurrencies more accessible to everyone.
