The Royal mother of three looked appropriately sporty in a blue tennis skirt and matching zip-up jacket for the event.

Kate, 39, who has come back to work following her annual summer break, looked suitably sporty in a blue tennis skirt and matching zip-up tracksuit jacket from French sportswear brand Poivre Blanc for the visit at the National Tennis Centre in London.

Appearing similarly ready for their match, teammate 18 year old Emma Raducanu, who became the first woman from Britain to win a grand slam title for 44 years when she bagged the US Open title earlier this month, just weeks after collecting her A-level results, donned a blue T-shirt and white shorts for the outing.

Kate and Emma were teamed up for their opening shots before switching to opposite sides of the court to play with other British US Open champions, Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, who won the men’s wheelchair doubles, and men’s doubles champion Joe Salisbury.

Kate Middleton is a patron of the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA), which organised the homecoming event to rejoice the accomplishments of the UK’s stars at the recent grand slam, with a 30-minute show of the action aired on BBC Sport online and BBC iPlayer.

Roger Federer’s Turbo Recovery post third knee surgery : Roger Federer ‘feeling good’ as he recuperates from latest knee surgical procedure

Roger Federer has earlier said he would be out of action for “many months” because he required a 3rd procedure on his right knee in eighteen months in a bid to return to competition.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion was last seen performing at the Wimbledon this year.

Roger Federer says he is “feeling strong & eager for what’s to come” as he regains his strength post his latest knee operation at the age of 40.

Federer had 2 surgeries in 2020 which resulted in more than a year of recovery before a return to action in March, however, he endured another impediment during his run to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in July.

“I’m feeling in all honesty really good … things are not as bad as I thought they would be, but I’m recuperating well and the post operative therapy is going really good,” Federer told Eurosport.

“I’ve had no complications at this time. I’m feeling great and thrilled for what’s to come. I wish I could be back on a tennis court as fast as possible, but I have been advised to take baby steps to that goal.

“It’s a slow phase right now. And I got to take it one small step at a time. The going is good so far and I’m very happy with my progress.”

Federer, who skipped the US Open as a consequence of the surgery, also thinks it remains possible for the Calendar Slam to be viable after Novak Djokovic fell at the decisive hurdle in New York earlier this month.

World No 1 Novak Djokovic was attempting to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win all 4 Grand Slams in the same year – and outdo Rafael Nadal and Federer with a record 21st major – but went down in unceremonious fashion to Daniil Medvedev.

“I think it is likely that it’s going to come about again,” said Federer. “We saw it with Djoker, myself and Nadal that we come exceptionally close.

“But I also believe you need a bit of luck. You need dedication, strength … that’s why I think it’s going to be tough. But the potential of Calendar Slam cannot be ruled out.

Maria and Serena the saga of Rivalry to Friendship

Maria and Serena the Saga of Rivalry to Friendship

Maria and Serena the saga of Rivalry to Friendship : Maria Sharapova spotted with former rival Serena Williams at Met Gala, from rivals to party pals.

Tennis stars Maria Sharapova & Serena Williams — known for their famous on-court rivalry through the years — posed together for a photoshoot at the Met Gala which took place on 5th Avenue at Manhattan in New York City.

The pair was seen with Williams’ older sister, fellow tennis star Venus Williams, who named the meeting a “reunion” in a post on her Instagram Story. That’s 35 grand slams captured in one image, an excited fan noted on Twitter.

Sharapova also shared the photograph to her Instagram Story, along with a separate picture with Lakers star Russell Westbrook.

Sharapova & Williams’ thrilling tennis saga began in 2004 at Wimbledon, when Sharapova annihilated Williams to become the third-youngest female to win the Grand Slam. But that would be the final time she would see victory against Williams — who ruled the rest of their career meetings before Sharapova retired in early 2020.

Elsewhere in the autobiography, Sharapova clarified, “I think Serena hated me for being the skinny kid who beat her, against all odds” at the lush green lawns in 2004.

Sharapova said she watched Williams “crying” and having “throaty sobs” in the locker room after the loss.

“I think she disliked me for seeing her at her lowest possible moment. But mostly I think she detested me for listening to her cry. She’s never exonerated me for it.” Sharapova wrote.

Sharapova and Williams must have gotten over their bitterness over the years, and it is evident as they were seen rubbing elbows at one of fashion’s biggest nights.

Maria Sharapova attends The Hand of God premier at the Venice Film Festival : After devoting 19 years of her life on the WTA Tour, Maria Sharapova retired from tennis in February last year.

However, the limelight continues to shine on the Russian as she made an appearance at the Venice Film Festival this week.

This is the 78th Venice Film Festival.

At the event, Sharapova attended the first night opening of the Italian movie titled, “The Hand of God”.

The Venice Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday, September 1.

Established in 1932, this is the 78th version of the iconic film competition, with 21 films from various countries selected by a clever jury.

Among those 21 movies features the Italian picture, “The Hand of God”. While the title shares a stunning resemblance to the name given to Diego Maradona’s notorious goal in the 1986 FIFA World Cup, the film is about something totally different!

Directed by Paolo Sorrentino, the film portrays a special story from the days of his youth.

The two hour 10 minutes film debut was in Venice at the festival, with Sharapova standing out amongst those in attendance.

She sported a black dress to the festival, and took to Instagram and twitter to share a few photos of her from the event.

Along with the photographs, she penned, “Venice Film Festival at the premiere of Paulo Sorrentino’s The Hand of God.”

Andy Murray Pissed off at Tsitsipas’ Unfair Gamesmanship

The Briton protested about what he thought was unfair gamesmanship by the French Open runner-up and proclaimed: I lost respect for him

Andy Murray is aware that Greek top seed has a growing repute for pushing the limits when it comes to taking breaks during a match.

Murray figures there was ample for him to contend with in Monday’s high heat and humidity: He’s 34. He’s got a synthetic hip. He’s ranked 112th after a string of fitness issues.

At one stage, he fell to the ground, losing his balance in sweat-soaked shoes and leaving specks on the blue court from his damp clothing.

So as the match stretched to almost 5 hours, Murray was not at all happy that Tsitsipas took a medical break after the 3rd set and made a prolonged visit to the locker room after the fourth. Following an engaging, back-and-forth 2-6, 7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 loss to Tsitsipas, Murray grumbled about what he thought off as unfair gamesmanship by the Greek and literally state that “I lost respect for him”.

Told of Murray’s anger, the just-turned-23 Tsitsipas said, “If there’s something that he has to tell me, we should speak, the two of us, to kind of understand what went wrong. I don’t think I broke any rules.”

With departures for Murray and 2014 winner Marin Cilic, who halted the match abruptly because of an injury in the 5th set against Philipp Kohlschreiber, the only man left in the draw after Day One with even one Grand Slam title is No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic will debut Tuesday night as he tries to break a tie for the men’s mark of 20 majors with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to complete a calendar-year Grand Slam.
