Garbine loses in the Qatar final & cannot wait till next year | recuperates by taking an ice tub dip !

The Doha womenā€™s finals turned out to be an one sided affair with Petra Kvitova defeating Garbine Muguruza 6-2 6-1 after playing a solid match to win her 28th career title, the 1st of this season.

The match lasted just over an hour and this is the 2nd time Kvitova has won the tournament.

At the finish of the match the tally revealed that Petra scored 58 points vs. Muguruzaā€™s 38.

Kvitova kept to the high standard of her game as was expected of her and converting 56% of the break points was perhaps the tilting factor.

On the other hand, Muguruza was not at the top of her game as a result her break points conversion ratio was only 14% and that was the key factor that led to her defeat.

After their meeting at Doha, the H2H between Kvitova and Muguruza is 5-1 in favour of Petra.

This is what the players had to say:

Kvitova, who has defeated Garbine in their past 5 meetings, said: “It’s been a terrific run. I’m sorry for the 2nd time. I hope we can play someplace else.”

World number 16 Garbine Muguruza said with a positive attitude: “For a 2nd time she grabbed the title away from me, but I can’t wait to come back in 2022.”

Do you know how Muguruza recovers after every match ?

All said and done we know how Garbine recovers after any match, she uses cryotherapy (cold therapy).

Garbine Muguruza posted a funny video post one of her recent matches in which she is seen having an ice bath in her own bathroom.

Faster muscle recovery times: Current research shows that whole-body cryotherapy supports faster recovery after extreme workouts or sports. This works best if you jump into a chamber or a tub filled with ice cubes immediately after an intense workout or sport.
