Andy Murray made his come back to professional tennis in a Challenger circuit at the Biella Challenger Indoor in northern Italian region of Piedmont.

He was stopped in the finals and was unable to win the title, losing to Illya Marchenko of Ukraine in straight sets.

The Scot is now working to up his fitness levels ahead of the second major of the season at the Roland Garros.

Though Andy Murray’s return to action failed to generate a winner’s prize, he walked away with another prize of sorts. He was privileged to receive a signed Juventus shirt from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Former world top seed Andy Murray made his return to action at the ATP Challenger Tour, Biella Challenger Indoor, in northern Italy – after a positive coronavirus test prohibited him from going to Melbourne for the 2021 Australian Open.

Murray savored defeat at the hands of Ukrainian Illya Marchenko in the final, but he appeared a winner after receiving a autographed shirt from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“Thank you very much Cristiano for the shirt,” Murray said. “I’m a big fan, really appreciate it.”

Murray reciprocated by sending the Juventus and Portugal icon a autographed shirt and a racket he used in the competition.

“Unfortunately I can’t come to watch your match in the next few days, but I signed a shirt for you as well and have one of my rackets that I used this week to give to you as well,” the Brit said. “Thank you very much.”
