The women’s US Open winner revealed that combining forces with 3 time Olympic medallist was something both the players wanted, and implied it was only a matter of time before the two tennis players would take to the court together.

Tennis super stars Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu could shape a mixed doubles partnership in the coming future, according to the present US Open women’s champion.

In an announcement that is certain to include British fans rejoicing, nineteen year old Raducanu confirmed that both the tennis players were keen to come together on court. They possibly might team up for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.

“We have not discussed about it but it’s something we feel we both would like to do,” said Emma Raducanu. “I’m not sure if this going to be the year but with a bit of luck it can happen.”

Murray, who claimed 2 of his 3 grand slam singles trophies at Wimbledon, has a bit of a track record when it comes to teaming up with greats in the mixed doubles arena.

The thirty six year old in the past played beside twenty three time singles grand slam champion Serena Williams at The Championships in south London back in 2019.

With 7 Olympic medals among them, Williams and Murray got as far as the Round of 16 prior to being knocked out by the number 1 seeds.

Murray won mixed doubles silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics with Laura Robson, and also claimed gold medal in the singles contest at his home Games. He successfully defended that title by winning a second gold medal at Rio olympics 2016, before a phase out of the sport due to an injury.

The news comes as Britain’s number 1 and world number 11 Raducanu retired injured from her opening game of the 2022 grass court campaign at the Nottingham Open, the same contest where she made her WTA debut this time last year.

She was trailing 4-3 to Viktorija Golubic in the 1st round before pulling out due to an injury and admitted afterwards that she has no clue if it would keep her from competing at Wimbledon.
