Karolina Pliskova, could also come face to face with Halep, but she is still regaining form after a hand injury. If Halep adapts to the change in climatic and playing conditions then her road is clear until she meets her first real road block in the form of a Sabalenka.
Paula Badosa and Maria Sakkari
The early part of the other Miami Open draw features a potential blockbuster replay of rising WTA stars Paula Badosa and Maria Sakkari, who are both firing on all cylinders as witnessed in Indian Wells.
Badosa may have more fire in her belly as she would be eying a revenge. Both the Greek and Spaniard are incredibly fit and should acclimate well to Miami, but Badosa’s forehand may be considered more lethal in humid conditions.
Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and two-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza
In the final quarter, fans will have a feast while watching Iga Swiatek perhaps taking on a Coco Gauff. This draw also features two-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza, who most definitely will be motivated to improve on recent performance. Also it is a known fact that Garbine is a power player, which is exactly the what is required to shine under Miami conditions.
All in all, the fans are going to have a real experience right from the word go at Miami. The star studded draw is no less than what one could see at a Grand Slam.
