Andreescu eager to bounce back but challenging Naomi and Muguruza in Miami is not going to be easy!

Bianca Vanessa Andreescu is eager to get back into her winning ways at the 2021 Miami Open, hopefully challenging Garbine Muguruza and Naomi Osaka who are the top favourites to win the title.

On the WTA tour, Andreescu became the player to defeat in the second half of 2019 after she won the US Open by toppling Serena Williams in an exciting and inspiring final. However, a string of injuries and the pandemic kept her out from the contests for more than 12 months.

Bianca was hopeful of showing her real stuff by staging a terrific comeback on the occasion of the Australian summer, but things didn’t go in her favour and she ended up rolling out in the second round of the 2021 Australian Open.

However, Andreescu has all the promise to get back to her magnificent past and even if she needs to fight some doubts. “I guess there is a small element of doubt always in the back of my mind. But I’m aiming to do my best to get rid of that. It’s not easy. It’s a process. But I’m working a lot in that direction,” she said in a recent interview.

However, Bianca’s Winning mentality will have to be right up there to bounce back as the challengers she is poised to face are equally if not stronger mentally. This is her winning mentality speaking:

“I’m doing very good coming into the 2021 Miami Open. Every tournament I go into I would like to win. I want to concentrate more on the process towards that, which is loving my time on court, giving all that I have, just believing in myself. This is actually only my 2nd year on tour, so I don’t want to put a lot of stress on myself in that area. But I’m doing my best in thwarting a lot of stuff, working a lot on my strength and fitness at the gym. I do believe that things will be becoming better.”
